All About Lake Balls
Ask any keen golfer who has played the sport for any length of time if they have ever ended up with their balls in a lake, pond or stream whilst playing a round of golf.
That’s where lake balls come in.
Some may let their ego’s get in the way and will flatly deny ever hitting a shot that went anywhere but onto the fairway.
However, we know that this is very likely to be untrue.
And we can pretty certain from the thousands of lake balls found every year that actually someone is missing the greens and the fairways a lot more times than they may care to admit!
We wonder what thoughts a lake ball diver has as he is preparing for another dark night in a golfing lake.
Recovery of these balls means that people can play more golf without the manufacture of more balls. So energy is saved, which has to be good for the environment in general.
The lake balls normally go through a refinishing process which means that when they have been cleaned they are virtually indistinguishable from the real thing. As good as new, really.
There are many balls recovered per year from around the world including brands such as Titleist, Callaway, Nike and Srixon. What a good job that they aren’t left at the bottom of lakes for the rest of their days!
